The heart behind Lakeshore Bin Co..
As a wife, a mom, and a small business owner, I know a move can be one of the most exciting moments in a family’s life — and one of the most stressful. I built Lakeshore Bin Co. to take one large, expensive, wasteful problem off your plate: the boxes.
We deliver sturdy, professionally sanitized moving totes right to your door, stacked and ready to pack. When your move is finished, we come back and collect them. No flattening, no taping, no hauling cardboard to the curb for three weeks afterward.
Lakeshore Bin Co. is locally owned and family run. I set the delivery schedule, my family helps load the truck, and I read every message that comes through this website. When you call, you are not reaching a call center in another state — you are reaching us, here in Chicago, IL.
Whether you are moving into a first apartment, upsizing for a growing family, or downsizing after many happy years in one home, I am genuinely honored to be a small part of that chapter. Thank you for supporting a local small business.

Clean, every single time
Each tote is washed, sanitized, and inspected between rentals. If a bin is cracked, scuffed, or anything less than ready to pack, it never leaves our shop.

A genuinely greener move
One of our totes replaces hundreds of cardboard boxes over its life. Every rental is one less pile of flattened cardboard at the curb.
How Lakeshore grew up
2019
One truck, one garage
Michelle bought 200 totes, stacked them in the garage, and made deliveries between school pickups.
2021
A real shop
Moved into a wash bay and warehouse so every tote could be sanitized properly and staged for the next family.

Expanded coverage across Chicago and surrounding suburbs within 35 miles with same-week delivery windows.

Still family run
The same family answers the phone, loads the truck, and follows up after every move.
Our family
Two grown-ups, three kids, and one very unhelpful dog. The kids count totes on Saturdays and the dog supervises from the tailgate. Every delivery you receive was checked by someone whose last name is on the truck.
In the community
We donate rentals to local families relocating after a hardship, sponsor a youth team each spring, and keep a standing discount for teachers, nurses, and first responders moving in Chicago, IL.
